Office 365 Download Tutorial
Downloading Office 365 is quite straightforward, however, you must follow the tutorial carefully as it can be a bit complicated for those who have never done it before.
If you bought a PC and it came with Office 365 installed, simply change the key and go directly to the program to log in; there is no need to uninstall.
Step 1: Log in to your account
First, you need to go to the website LOGIN.MICROSOFTONLINE.COM, which is Microsoft's website for logging into Office 365.
Once there, you should log in with the Office 365 account that we sent to your email.
Always, in all Office 365 accounts, the system will prompt you to change the password we provide to a private key that only you will know. This is mandatory and cannot be bypassed; if you do not change the key, Office may stop working without prior notice.
Simply put, in the first field that appears, enter the key that came in the email, and in the next two fields, you must create and then re-enter a new password. This password must include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
We recommend saving this key in a notepad or on a piece of paper so as not to forget it.
After entering the login data, there are two options:
OPTION 1:
In some cases, the system will ask to set up a recovery phone and a backup email. If so, follow the on-screen instructions to configure these recovery means, which will be useful in case you lose the key.
In those cases, it is mandatory to set up at least one recovery method. However, we recommend configuring both.
OPTION 2:
In other cases, the system will not ask you to set up a recovery email and will directly proceed to OFFICE.COM. In this scenario, you cannot set up a backup phone or email, and in case you lose your password, you will need to contact our company's support.
Step 2: Download the installer from Office.com
After completing the sign-in, simply go to office.com and download the installer from the "Install Office" tab. It will automatically download the appropriate Office version for your PC and operating system.
The installer is an online installer. This means that it requires an internet connection to install Office. The installation can take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours, depending on your internet speed and hard drive.
After downloading and opening the installer, you will see this screen:
When it reaches the end, Office will finish installing; however, it still needs to be activated.
STEP 3: Activate Office
Activating Office is very simple. Open any Office program, such as Word, and accept the license agreement.
The system gives you a few days to use it without a license, but since you already have the license, it's best to activate it immediately. After accepting the contract and the privacy statement, you must click on the "Inic. Sec." button located in the top right corner of the program and log in with the account we sent you and the password you chose in the previous step.
Once logged in, this message will appear:
It is very important to select that option, as failing to check "Allow my organization to manage the device" will lead to problems syncing different Office installations across multiple devices.
You should understand that the message does not mean that an organization will manage your computer. Only you have access to your computer or your files; neither we nor anyone else has access to them. The message pertains to managing the Office account we provide for your online use.
Once you accept this, Office 365 will be activated.
STEP 4: Create desktop icons
To create program icons on the desktop, simply search for any program in the Windows search bar, right-click on "Open file location"
And a folder will open that contains the shortcuts to the Office programs. To create the shortcuts on the desktop, just right-click on each one of them and select create shortcut.
It will ask you if you want to place the shortcut on the desktop. Select "Yes" and you will see the shortcut on your Windows desktop.
Important Recommendations (Please read)
One very important thing is not to use the Autosave option unless you back up the information from your OneDrive onto a hard drive you own, as it can result in irrecoverable loss of information in case you lose access to the account.
Similarly, do not use the OneDrive service to store sensitive or irrecoverable data unless you have another copy of the files elsewhere.
The terms and conditions of OneDrive are clear in that Microsoft is not responsible for your files and cannot recover them in case of loss. Our company will also not be legally responsible for any moral or material damage caused by the loss of files stored in the cloud.
Our company does not have access to the server where the files are located, therefore we are not responsible for the server's operation, as it is managed by third parties.
You can use the included OneDrive with the account if you wish, but entirely at your own risk. Frequently Asked Questions about Office 365:
